How to...the Bridgnorth Model photo
Anyway, the site I used for this photo was http://tiltshiftmaker.com/
It's fairly easy to do yourself in a photo editing package.
Basically;
Create a graduated mask from the middle to the edge, and apply a lens blur effect - this makes it look like there's less depth of field which is what you get when using a macro lens close up on a model.
Then you can increase the colour saturation slightly, which make things look more like they've been painted than real.
The combination of these two effects and a good choice of starting picture will give an illusion that will fool your eyes into seeing it as a model.
High up wide angle views make good pictures - my favourites are with trains!
Have fun, and don't forget to share your pictures if they're any good!

My first go Geocaching!
We found one Yippee!
Now walking back to the minibus.
Edit on return home:
I'm not on this photo - I was taking it !!
It is (from Left to Right) Oli, Jamie, Jason.D and Jason.W
We were on a "What shall we do different next week" trip out from the church youth club. Though most of the yoof were busy elsewhere (just dodging the rain, I reckon), so only the 5 of us.
GeoCaching is the modern equivalent of LetterBoxing, but using GPS as well as clues!!
The web page about it is here

Wow, this is cool
Thanks to Wulf's Blog for the starting point, and to Damn Cool Pics where I found the video.
Early morning
It's a shame that my mobile phone camera can't do it justice, and I don't have time to take a proper picture. Back to getting ready for work, already behind schedule!

The final construction
In the end I never got back to the construction and my wife finished it while I was at work.
Just in case you still can't tell, it's a roller coaster !

Can you see what it is yet?
This picture is with it in the box, tomorrow we'll have stage 1. I've already warned my son that it could take several days to complete!!!

Random picture
Anyway, I was filling the time by scanning through my photos on my phone. This one seemed interesting so I thought I'd post it here.
It was taken a fair while ago whilst walking in the Clent hills. The actual view was even better than the picture.
Anyway, back to passing time....

Blogging with pictures
So watch out for a relentless drivel of such posts - and the pictures may be bad, as most will come straight from the camera on my phone.
Lets see what happens!
BTW this is a picture of my monitor lizard {GROAN}

Just press this button here...

I've been looking into the idea of Lomo photography lately.
It started with Wulf's picture on flickr that mentioned it, and a quick google search took me to www.lomography.com.
I'm more interested in the philosophy of 'don't think, just shoot' rather than the strange effects the Lomo camera produces.
However, finding a dodgy cheap digital camera on my desk, I thought "This takes badly coloured pictures - and my son won't think before he takes a photo - I wonder what will happen."
So I passed the 'camera' to my 2 1/2 year old son for his walk to the toddlers group.
This is the only picture he took that didn't have his finger over the lens.
He called it Car - at least that's what he said when he pointed and clicked.
I thought it came out quite good.

I thought this was a great idea, and thought I might do the same, though without Wulf's organised regularity !
Watch this space.
